Bodhi Villa, Kampot
I have just arrived at the Bodhi Villa in Kampot. I’ve not been here long but I know I will stay for a while. It seems to have a great vibe and friendly people. It’s on the river and has various areas to relax in, with sofas, cushions, a roof terrace and a kitchen serving great food, coffee and beers. There is a deck on the river, a dorm room and floating bungalows. The owners have a recording studio and own a speedboat. You can wakeboard, waterski, and they have wifi, dvd’s, games and good music in the bar. I might stay for my birthday on the 16th Jan.
There are many others that have extended their stay here, some for a few months, some have found jobs, others volunteer in local schools. it’s the only place I have found that books up, I was lucky to get in.
I could do with slowing down for a bit, this seems like the best place to do it, I’ve not found anywhere like it before.
In a bit…

Good on ya mate, shame we won’t see ya for your birthday though. I like the fact the place you’re staying is named after Patrick Swayze’s character Bodhi in Point Break. Shame it wasn’t called Papas Villa, after Gary Busey’s character. Maybe I could open up a rival villa down the road. I’ll give it some thought whilst I drink my lipton.
